Embroiderer's Progress Quilt Block 97: Whitework Ventures

Block 97 of the Embroiderer’s Progress Quilt: Whitework Ventures.

This is another emotionally weighty block. I began this piece in June 2010, and it got caught in the middle of a rather nasty fight that turned out to be the first incident (of my woeful ex-husband-goes-to-prison saga) the police were interested in. (Fortunately, it was only subjected to a couple of firm tugs.) The two blocks on the right were started during that time; I put the piece away for a few months, and recently (Feb 2011) got it out and finished it with the two on the left, along with the drawn thread borders.

4x4”, DMC #8 perle cotton on linen, backed with lightweight deep blue cotton, June 2010-February 2011.
